ESSENCE Eats: Food & Wine Festival

In 2022, ESSENCE Festival of Culture launched the first-ever ESSENCE Eats: Food & Wine Festival that celebrated Black culinary excellence at The Sugar Mill and Mississippi River Heritage Park in New Orleans. Festivalgoers enjoyed the rich flavors of Creole cuisine and learned about the origins of some of our culture’s most beloved dishes. From Celebrity Chef appearances, demos, and panels to fine food trucks and vendors that delivered the exquisite tastes of New Orleans and beyond, the three-day inaugural ESSENCE Eats: Food & Wine Festival did not disappoint.
